Baidu sues Apple and app developers for copying Ernie Bot

Baidu, the Chinese search engine company, has taken legal action against Apple and “relevant” app developers for producing fake copies of their Ernie bot app, which were available on the App Store. Ernie bot, an AI-powered chatbot launched by Baidu last month, has been referred to as China’s closest competitor to the US-developed ChatGPT. Baidu confirmed that it has filed lawsuits against the developers responsible for the counterfeit versions of its Ernie bot app, as well as against Apple, in the Beijing Haidian People’s Court.
