Yokosuka: Japan's pioneering city to use ChatGPT for administrative duties

Yokosuka in Kanagawa Prefecture became the first municipality in Japan to use ChatGPT in its municipal offices. Around 4,000 employees of the Yokosuka government office began using the AI-powered chatbot, which OpenAI developed late last year. It is for a one-month trial to improve the city’s operations. Known for its US naval base and local variation of Japanese curry, Yokosuka is also the birthplace of former Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.
