Italy lifted its ban on ChatGPT less than a month after privacy concerns led to the ban. OpenAI responded to the concerns raised about user data privacy and security, leading to the reversal of the decision. An OpenAI spokesperson said the chatbot is once again available to Italian users and assured users of their privacy protection. Italy joined other countries such as Russia, China, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, and Syria in imposing a ChatGPT ban in late March.
